Trauma Touch Therapy
Developed in 1993 by Chris Smith, Trauma Touch emphasizes helping the client experience larger and fuller states of being without getting overwhelmed. When a person has experienced trauma the result is a numbing out in the body and of feelings while at the same time often feeling overwhelmed or being over reactive to situations. Trauma Touch helps to address these issues through a variety of touch techniques during a course of ten sessions.
Reiki is a Japanese energy technique used for relaxation and stress reduction. Reiki can help alleviate pain caused from injury or disease. It promotes a sense of well-being in the recipient.
In the 1980s, bodyworker David Palmer realized many people who could benefit from massage were not making the time to get worked on. Palmer devised a 15-minute routine that can be done in virtually any setting since the client leaves their clothes on and there is a special chair that the client sits on to receive the treatment. A treatment can be done in as little as 5 minutes.
Thai Massage is a therapy that combines stretching with acupressure. It is sometimes referred to as "lazy man's yoga." Sessions typically last 90 minutes and are usually done on a mat on the floor. It can also be modified to be done on a table for those unable to lay on the floor.
